Beloved Avatar Meher Baba Ki Jai!

From Bhau:

While I was dictating the previous message from Baba to Shiva, Sheela came and she reminded me about Dr. Harry Kenmore. But I did not pay attention, because I was dictating whatever I had received from Baba. After dictating the message, I was taking rest. While I was lying down, Baba again appeared to me.

He said, “Do you know how much Sheela loves you?

“As soon as she came to know that you were in the hospital, she left her children and came with David [Fenster] to Poona to see you in the hospital. You were discharged. David went back to America. She took you to her house and has been looking after you.

“Why does she love you so much? Because you are one of the Mandali.

“Harry Kenmore’s incident, of course, you know about. He had come to Meherazad in 1957 just after My second accident in India. He was a chiropractor, and he wanted to give Me a proper adjustment. So I permitted him to do it. Every morning he would treat Me in Mandali Hall, and every day he would ask Me, ‘How is the pain, Baba?’

“Every day I would tell him, ‘The pain is more today than it was yesterday.’

“One day, Eruch told Harry Kenmore the story of Nam Deo, who was a devotee of Lord Krishna. All the time, Nam Deo would say, ‘Vithal, Vithal,’ which is one of the names of Krishna. Once, Nam Deo brought food for Krishna in a plate. He said, ‘Krishna, you eat first. Unless you eat, I will not eat.’

“He was repeating ‘Krishna, please eat, please eat.’

“And the statue of Krishna ate Nam Deo’s food.

“Nam Deo had so much attention towards Krishna, that even the statue ate his food. One day, I asked Harry Kenmore, ‘Did you sleep last night?’”

As I [Bhau] was lying there, I recalled how, after I heard the story from Eruch, Harry Kenmore had lain awake the whole night, thinking about how much love Nam Deo had for Krishna. Because of Nam Deo’s love, even the statue ate. And Harry Kenmore had said to Baba, “Here I am. I give you a treatment every day, and what happens? I am increasing and increasing Your pain more and more. Instead of giving You relief, I am increasing Your pain. This shows that I don’t love You as Nam Deo did.”

Baba continued in His silent voice. “And I laughed and said, ‘Do you know why, Harry? Nam Deo was dealing with a statue A statue has no will. Here you are dealing with My Will. According to My Divine Will, My Universal Work is playing to complete it. Why did this accident take place? Because of My Universal Work. So unless the result of that Work comes to fruition, I will have to suffer. Therefore, I’m suffering.

“‘You have come here to give Me relief. You are trying your best, and I am pleased. You are seeking My pleasure. You are having this opportunity to serve Me. How blessed you are. Don’t worry. When My Work, for which I met with an accident, has been completed, this pain will go away automatically. Till then, I have to suffer and suffer.

“‘Nam Deo had devotion for Krishna,’ I told Harry Kenmore. ‘You have love for Me. Devotion does not seek the pleasure of the Beloved. Devotion wants whatever it likes. But love always seeks the pleasure of the Beloved. In order to please Me, you are giving Me treatment. And because I am pleased with your love, I have accorded this opportunity to you. So be happy. Don’t worry.’”

Beloved Baba had to appear for Sheela, because I had not paid attention towards her at the time. How compassionate He is. He is the Highest of the High. A single leaf cannot move without His Will, and His Wish is the medium to seek his pleasure.

With all love and Jai Babas to you,

In His love and service,

Bhau
